A Net Zero Energy Home
Will it really work? How much did it cost to build? What are the savings? Can you build one too? Gordon Howell, the Electrical Engineer who worked on the Riverdale Net Zero Home in Edmonton was an informative speaker!
What is a Net Zero home? Net zero energy means that the house generates all its own heat and electricity on an annual basis. ALL of it!
The Riverdale NetZero Project is one of 12 other projects across Canada. It is part of CMHC’s EQuilibrium Healthy Housing program. The duplex is located in Riverdale, in the river valley near downtown Edmonton, AB.
Visit the Riverdale Net Zero Website for more information, such as the home's technical proposal and CMHC’s Project Profile.
The Art of Upcycle
DIYista, Linda Bodo lives by her motto “Repurpose, Recycle and Redefine your Leisure Time.” Her passion for DIY (do it yourself) embraces the simple pleasures of working with one’s own hands while adapting unusual materials for the home and garden.
Linda’s first book, ‘Enjoy Life Outside’ (Hole’s Publishing) has proven such a hit that Linda's already completed a second book, 'The Art of Upcycle', as another tribute to creating cool projects for the home while saving money and our landfills.
Find Linda alongside hot-off-the press copies of her new book at this year's Barrhead Green Expo.
